Les surfeurs de l'Economie, a Rock’n Roll show

This history of economic thought in one hour is almost a bargain!

It’s an excellent review of the major schools of economic thought, rigorous in content, highly engaging, and presented with humor—often quirky—that resonates well with young people.

Two eccentric characters, Nono and Angie, take us from ancient Greece all the way to the 1980s. While Platon advocated for the common good, Aristotle believed in private property as the only way to develop trade, which leads to prosperity. Thus, 2,500 years before Christ, reason was already in conflict with desire...

The show then leaps through time, from the Enlightenment to John Keynes, passing through the Industrial Revolution and Karl Marx. Honestly, those who take the time to jot down a few notes will leave with clear revision sheets.

How do we decide together to meet our needs while trying to find balance?

The question, complex as it is, remains particularly open today and is hotly debated during election periods. But that doesn’t stop this show from ending on an optimistic note: "If the world seems in ruins, it’s because there’s still everything to build!" Time to get to work, young people!
